Meet Sage & Tripp.
Two cats run this dispensary. Their methods could not be more different. The strains are better for it.
Sage.
Sage came to High Whiskers with credentials. She holds (her words) certificates from institutions that do not technically exist. She has read every paper on the catnip response — we have receipts. She owns reading glasses she does not need and a tailored emerald blazer she absolutely does.
Her job is the science. She formulates every strain. She approves every batch. She writes the strain notes that you read on the jar. If the Buzz Meter says 5/5, it is because Sage agreed it was 5/5. She does not agree easily.
British. Precise. Treats every strain like a Master Sommelier flight. Genuinely fond of Tripp despite finding his lifestyle alarming. Would die before admitting it.
Tripp.
Tripp showed up at the shop one morning, lay down, and never left. Sage tried to make him leave. He did not leave. Eventually they gave him a job because he was already doing it.
His role is quality control — which is to say, he tests every strain. Personally. Repeatedly. His knowledge is entirely experiential. He cannot name the Latin family of any plant in the shop, but he can tell you exactly what Couch Lock feels like at 4pm on a Tuesday in early March.
Slow Jeff Bridges drawl. Hawaiian shirt, sandals, golden eyes at half-mast. Unbothered by everything. Occasionally profound by accident, never on purpose.
Opposites who agree on one thing.
Sage approaches the work with scientific rigor and exacting standards. Tripp approaches it with love and lived experience. Neither is complete without the other.
Sage provides the intellectual confidence that the product is right. Tripp provides the emotional permission to buy it. The tension between them IS the entertainment. Sage finds Tripp's methods empirically unsound but cannot argue with his results. Tripp finds Sage's precision unnecessary but trusts her completely. Neither would ever say this out loud.
