Field Notes · July's Habitat
July gets loud. A fringed-roof tiki hut for the cat who treats summer as a personal invitation to lose all composure.
Tripp: "We laser-cut the thatch fringe so it actually flutters when they tear through it. Paired it with a pineapple on a string. It's a whole vacation. The cat does not need a passport."
It folds up from its own shipping mailer — flat-pack, slot-and-tab, no glue, about ten minutes. Floor and walls are dense clawable corrugated — the part that takes the beating. One hanging pineapple critter dangles from the eave on kraft cord, with a refillable catnip pocket.
And the whole house is fair game for claws — so if your cat treats the couch like a scratching post, this hands them a far more interesting target. If your cat's an angel, it's just a very good-looking place to nap.
The honest partHow long it lasts is up to your cat. A gentle napper gets months out of it; a serious scratcher will love it hard and wear it down faster — and either way, the wear is the point. The whole structure is the scratcher, so when your cat finally claims it for good, that's it doing its job. Pet-safe, uncoated cardboard — ships flat, you fold it.
Laser-cut corrugated cardboard · built-in clawable scratcher floor · self-assembly, no glue · hanging catnip pineapple included · a past drop, while supplies last.
